CTO Jeroen Sanders is leaving Enexis Groep

25 Nov 2025

Jeroen Sanders will be leaving Enexis Groep on 1 March 2026 to continue his career elsewhere. An announcement will be made regarding his new employer at the beginning of the new year. Jeroen has been CTO since September 2020 and previously worked, among other roles, as Director of ICT at Enexis Groep.

Jeroen himself reflects on his tenure as follows: “After 28 years in the energy sector, I look back with considerable satisfaction on what we have achieved together. It was a privilege to work at Enexis - and previously at Edon, Essent, Endinet and Fudura - with so many passionate and talented colleagues on such an important social issue as futureproofing the Dutch and European energy system. I was greatly inspired by the cooperation with customers, partners, various government bodies and Netbeheer Nederland. It motivated us to take giant steps forwards and we are continuing to do so. In the coming weeks and months I will bid farewell to Enexis with a feeling of fondness and appreciation and I look forward to using the experience I have gained here in my new role at my new employer.”

CEO Rutger van der Leeuw reflects on a very enjoyable time spent working together with Jeroen: “Jeroen was an integral driving force within Enexis in recent years. As a member of the Executive Board he was passionate about steering our company in the right direction and putting maximum effort into giving clients on our waiting list realistic future prospects. His vision and people-oriented approach were highly appreciated in this regard. I know I speak for the entire Executive Board when I say that I am very sorry to see him leaving the company. We would like to wish Jeroen every success at his new employer.”

Chairman of the Supervisory Board Jos Nijhuis also thinks it is a shame that Jeroen is leaving Enexis: “We are extremely grateful to Jeroen for his dedication, focus and commitment. Under his leadership we made great strides in terms of designing an integrated and future-proof energy system, together with regional and local authorities. Every year the number of connected sustainable projects increased and we realised a record amount of power. On behalf of all the members of the Supervisory Board I would like to thank Jeroen most sincerely for his contribution to Enexis. He can look back proudly on all that he has achieved. I would like to wish him all the best and every success in his challenging new role. We will start the process of finding a new CTO as soon as we possibly can.”
